I love creating things that move people and make them think

About Luke Aylen

I have over ten years of professional experience in the creative and narrative fields, in videography and film; creative direction for major live events; script and novel writing; and academic research and teaching.

I’ve won multiple awards for directing and producing, with two of my creative short films beating major production companies, including the BBC, despite being the indie underdog made on shoestring budgets. I have authored three middle-grade fantasy novels (published by Lion Fiction): The Mirror and the Mountain, The Forgotten Palace, and The Last Dragon Rider, which are often compared to C.S. Lewis’ Narnia Chronicles.

After a decade of working on other people’s stories and projects, I’m now focusing on developing my own passion projects. I will be writing more fiction, building up my screenwriting portfolio, and seeking to produce my own independent films and plays.

Subscribe to my Substack for news and updates about my current and future work, as well as for other musings and micro-projects.

While I’m prioritising time for my own projects, I still love collaborating. So, if you have a project you think we should work on together, please get in touch.

I craft compelling content that explores the beauty and complexity of identity, longing, and reality
